What Is the Palworld Card Game?

The Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME brings the hit monster-catching survival game to the tabletop as a strategic two-player card game.

The Video Game

Palworld is a multiplayer, open-world survival and crafting game built around creatures called Pals - catch them, build with them, and explore together. Since its January 2024 launch it has been played by more than 35 million people.

The Card Game

A two-player trading card game where you lead a team of unique Pals to victory. Pals, Gears, Events, and Structures all become cards, giving you deep strategy and plenty of freedom - and every card features brand-new illustrations.

Before you play

What You Need to Play

Each player brings two decks to the table. New players can grab a ready-to-play Trial Deck and start immediately.

50

Main Deck

Exactly 50 cards made up of Pals, Gears, Events, and Structures. Build it using up to two colors - colorless cards are not restricted, so you can splash them freely.

10

Soul Deck

Exactly 10 Soul cards. Souls are the resource you rest to pay the cost of the cards you play during your turn - the engine that powers your whole game plan.

Trial Decks

Brand new to the game? The official Trial Decks are pre-built and ready to play right out of the box. Add Booster Packs later to power up and customize your decks.

Know your cards

The Four Card Types

Your Main Deck is built from four kinds of cards. Each plays a different role on the field.

Pals Your team

The main characters of the game. Pals lead the way in battle and can be assigned to work at Structures. Each has a Cost, a Power (battle damage) and a Strike (damage dealt to the opposing player).

Gears Support

Mainly tools and weapons. Gear cards empower your own Pals or deal damage to your opponent's Pals - the flexible support that swings a fight in your favor.

Events One-time

Cards with powerful one-time-use effects. Play an Event at the right moment for an immediate burst of value, then it is done.

Structures Persistent

Field cards that stay in play. Assign (rest) a Pal to a Structure to activate its ability. A Structure has Durability, and is destroyed when it takes damage equal to or above it.

How to play

How to Play - Step by Step

Four short steps take you from an empty table to your first win. The official How To Play graphics walk through each one.

1

Get your decks ready

Set out your 50-card Main Deck and your 10-card Soul Deck. Keep your Main Deck to two colors at most - colorless cards are unrestricted. Your Souls are the resource you will rest to pay for cards throughout the game.

2

Meet your Pals and Gears

Learn to read a card. Pals are your main characters and carry three key numbers:

  • Cost - the number of Souls you rest to play the card.
  • Power - the damage dealt when this Pal battles another Pal or a Structure.
  • Strike - the damage dealt to the opposing player when this Pal attacks them.

Gear cards are your tools and weapons - use them to empower your Pals or deal damage to your opponent's Pals.

3

Add Events and Structures

Round out your plan with the two remaining card types. Event cards deliver a powerful one-time effect the moment you play them.

Structure cards stay on the field. Assign a Pal to a Structure - that is, rest the card by turning it sideways to put the Pal to work - to trigger the Structure's ability. Each Structure has a Durability value and is destroyed once it takes that much damage.

4

Battle and win

Attack with your Pals to wear your opponent down. When a player takes damage, they reveal cards from the top of their deck equal to the attacker's Strike - this is the Damage Check.

If a revealed card shows the Lucky icon, the damage is canceled. Keep the pressure on: you win the moment your opponent's life reaches 0.
